The Henry M. Jackson Leadership Fellows Program is a major initiative to invest in the leadership development of highly-qualified young professionals. This program is one way that the Jackson Foundation is realizing its commitment to developing thoughtful next generation leaders to foster a bipartisan approach to challenges in the fields of international affairs, human rights, environment and natural resources management, energy, and public service. The Jackson Leadership Fellows Program is based on the belief that by engaging young professionals in leadership, we will improve the effectiveness of problem solving in the nation and in our local communities.
Annually the Foundation selects eight young, civic-minded leaders 40 years old and under in the Greater Seattle area to participate in a nine-month program starting in October. Through their participation in the program, the Fellows build a deeper understanding of the Jackson legacy, advance their own leadership skills, and develop beneficial personal and professional connections. The Jackson Foundation selects candidates based on their level of civic and professional engagement, their areas of interest, and their values, such as a commitment to finding common ground, and a thirst for learning.
The Foundation would like to thank the many individual donors who provide their support to the Henry M. Jackson Leadership Fellows Program.
